1.
Why haven't you got all the sketches listed and transcribed?
The
simple answer is I don't have time. To date I have spent
many hundred of hours watching all 40 episodes of The
Late Show. This in itself has been an enormously time
consuming effort and most of the sketches which have their
own entry are personal favorites of mine.
2.
What if there is a favorite segment or sketch of The Late
Show I want to see on your site?
I no
longer accept requests to add your favorite sketch. I simply do not have time these days.
3.
Where can I get copies of The Late Show?
Many
fans of The Late Show have kept their old VHS tapes
from 1992-93 and some have traded these tapes in order to
acquire complete sets. Because of the nature of magnetic
recording media (i.e. VHS tapes), these tapes are
deteriorating rapidly and it will be a matter of time before
these copies of The Late Show are unwatchable. Some fans
have transferred their old VHS copies to DVD to preserve
this piece of Australian television comedy history. Don't
ask me for copies.
4.
Why don't you publish a book?
I
initially wanted my research to be published in the form of
a book. However, because I am updating my information,
adding sketches and when time permits, it is far easier to
publish and update on line.
5.
Why isn't The Late Show being screened anymore?
At
one stage the "official" reason from the ABC was
that because The Late Show was a topical program format with
issues of the day, a majority of the material on the show
would not be relevant in 2006. Fans of The Late Show disagree
but this is what the ABC is sticking to.
6.
Will you be providing Cast biographies?
Originally
I wanted to include Cast biographies to the site, most of
the original crew are not interested in this and other
sites, so I am not continuing.
7.
Why don't you post the sketches and the theme song on your site
for downloading?
I
have no plans to do so, due to copyright problems and
bandwidth limitations.
8.
What is it with the font you use?
I
have use 'Courier New' font for this site because it
resembles the 'typewriter' font used on The Late Show.
