(Intro music)

Host: Okay let's begin with showing off time. The night before Brett died he...?"

(Contestant 2 Buzzes)

Host: Nathan.

Nathan: ...was at my place. Mmmm... We um, we were very good friends. We spoke about our friendship, me and Brett. And he spoke to me about a painting.

(Contestant 1 Buzzes)

Host: Interjection.

Roger: He, he told me about that. He was at my place later.

Host: 5 points for one-upmanship.

(Contestant 2 Buzzes)

Host: Follow up interjection.

Nathan: Ahh, it's funny you mention that because I remember back in '68 in London and Brett said to me that...

(Contestant 1 Buzzes)

Roger: Objection. Gratuitous anecdote. Everyone knew Brett back in '68.

(Applause)

Host: Next it's time for fast clichés. Your time starts... now.

Roger: (pause) National treasure.

Nathan: Um brilliant genius.

Roger: Tortured genius.

Nathan: Master of nuance.

Roger: Entire life a work of art.

Nathan: Oooooh.

(Cut to next round. Both contestants are facing each other while straddling a pole over a pool, armed with pillows).

Nathan: I organised his first exhibition (hits Roger contestant with pillow).

Roger: I had dinner with him and Philip Adams (hits Nathan contestant with pillow).

Nathan: I borrowed his lawn mower (hits Roger contestant with pillow).

Voiceover (Jane): Who Knew Brett Best. Tonight of ABC TV. Actually I met him once you know, it was at the opening of the Sydney Contemporary Art Gallery...
